Off topic, but think about the media knowledge and average IQ of reporters on crypto. Their coverage has been absolutely atrocious, this should make you question the media’s reporting on EVERYTHING. Their level of effort and understanding is consistent throughout all articles.

This leaves out editorial standards. Editorial standards are non-existent, it would seem. Regardless of what you know or don't know, you can fairly assume this standard is low across an entire publication if it is so low that a fairly simple story is so poorly presented.
