Let me put this as bluntly as possible: The government official who wrote the anonymous New York Times op-ed is a coward. He should be exposed and fired.pic.twitter.com/PIBUJwDRjW

How about passing a civil service reform to make it possible for the POTUS, who the Constitution says is supposed to be the executive (i.e. the boss), to actually fire government employees? Current civil service laws are what have given us our out-of-control unelected government.

Head of the executive branch, but also kept in check by the judicial and legislative branch. Theres a reason the government is not a business. And should therefore not be run like one.

I think he's talking about the executive branch only. For example, if the President wants a new Attorney General, he can't just fire and replace. He needs approval of Senate and it's a major political headache.

This is how democracy works. If you want a government run by the people and for the people, you need a quorum. Anything otherwise is closer to a dictatorship. Funny, there were no complaints about this from conservatives during the Obama years. Wonder why...?

I don't identify as a conservative. Not trying to argue this one way or another, just saying this is not about judicial or congress, it's just about executive being able to appoint people to do specific jobs.

US had the patronage system until 1883. Then they got the merit based system. If I had to choose, I would choose the patronage system because at least folks aren't entrenched. It would also raise the time preference of bureaucrats which will thwart their usually damaging plans

Yeah - scrap our First Amendment and make him Dictator Don. Why are you trumpets so willing to give corporations unregulated freedom and to take personal freedoms away? Do you all love unchecked regimes? #USianotadictatorship

The one person recently severely critical of POTUS, calling him dictator, said he was throwing US under the bus, criticized Ivanka & Jared for being at McCain's funeral and is an intermediary to her father, Jon Huntsman, Russian Ambassador, Abby Huntsman seem logical for op-ed.
