The mechanization of bits via POW seems silly when you first hear about it, but so did the mechanization of information back in Turing’s day.

Trustlessness is an inverse function of technical efficiency. The less efficient a computer is, the more difficult it is to manipulate. The more difficult it is to manipulate, the more you can trust it, therefore making it trustless. -

Doesn't automatically follow; one can have a bad design that is both inefficient and vulnerable (not trust minimized). Typically though a good design must trade away efficiency for more trust minimization (sometimes the reverse works better, but former usually more valuable).
