I understand the responsibilities of the commander in chief, but is there evidence these people violated the espionage act? Are they providing security secrets to a foreign nation?
They should have their security clearances revoked long before it becomes more probable than not that they will (not have) violate the Espionage Act. That would be locking the barn gate after the horses have probably already escaped.

Obama misused the Espionage Act 8 times. So far Trump has prosecuted 1 person under the act. People worry that Trump will continue down the rabbit hole Obama started down during his administration. @

A POTUS has the power to do that, but our form of gov’t won't tolerate a president to slide down that mother of all slippery slopes. Perhaps if the Brennan case goes to trial, a light will shine on the all the misuses of the Espi Act. @
