Even if you don't use them to transact, doesn't the fact that you have a full node increase the network security by itself? (as it's validating/sharing)?

Which tells you that you are talking to different IP addresses, different nodes, independently-controlled nodes? Or maybe just one node with multiple IP addresses, or maybe you ISP is lying to you...
