Are you happy with a 1 week lead time before new people can begin using #Bitcoin?
-
-
It isn't a proposal, it's our present reality.
-
Yeah what do you mean?
-
It currently takes a while to spin up a node.
-
(And it gets longer every day with current block sizes...)
-
It gets longer everyday with any blocksize, the only way it doesn’t grow is if it dies and no one uses it...
-
If the size grows slower than technology improves, the *time* drops. Hence the desire for 300k blocks (just under tech growth rate).
-
Cannot tie it to tech rate, that’s central planning(worst form of centralisation, worse than miner centralisation). Must be tied to usage(market). Can you not stomach short term centralisation that will in turn drive tech innovation that’s needed? Fear is the dark side Luke.
-
Centralisation does not drive innovation, and our current level of centralisation is already way too close to game over. A decentralised system cannot measure usage any more than it can measure tech rate anyway.

Can you run a node on a $200 laptop from Best Buy? Yes. Is $200+7 days too much time and money to spend for financial self sovereignty? No. Your welcome.
-
Most want a 3rd party running their node for them anyway. Will any none tech layman want to be personally responsible for the security of their entire life savings? No. To Luke this means bitcoins broken because it’s not perfect yet.
