Right, but it could just be an opt-in feature they provide on request, and not prompt you to decide when you sign up. Let me be clear here, I'm not seeking mandates, only speculating the consequences of ignoring it should porting scams continue to increase.

They can't even get a handle on the spam calls. I thought it was just me until everyone started claiming they get them multiple times a day. AT&T only provides an app called "Call Protect", where it flags the numbers when they call so you know to ignore them, but it still rings.

My point here I guess is, I think there's an underestimation going on regarding the generals public willingness to move to better services, even if those services come with a few extra fees.
