The problem with a society run by lawyers, economists, and journalists is the elites can't imagine ordinary people making decisions that aren't based on lawsuits, money, or virtue signals.

The average salary of journalists doesn’t reflect the salary of the small fraction of prominent journalists. Those at the WSJ, NYT, etc. tend to make six figures. Regardless of their salary, they are elite shapers of narratives.
