Giant companies are the security holes of capitalism. The more centralized industries get, the more they attract socialist political activists. The Bolshevik Revolution was a violent version of this vs. railroad stations, newspapers, etc. Now activism is focused on tech giants.

Political polarization and censorship seem that they would dramatically weaken the network effect. Ie. “Fine, ban my friends and I’ll move to where they go.”

What if staying costs are higher? And wouldn’t network effects have anything to say about friends sticking together vs going different places?
