Giant companies are the security holes of capitalism. The more centralized industries get, the more they attract socialist political activists. The Bolshevik Revolution was a violent version of this vs. railroad stations, newspapers, etc. Now activism is focused on tech giants.

Can’t we just live with the fact that - as humans - we’re gonna have to support those unable (not unwilling) to secure a half-way decent living for themselves? From reading Twitter, it seems like common sense and decency is an outrageous act of tyrannical communism…

You're free to support anyone in any way you like. We're opposed to using violence to force others into said "chairity"

Im as opposed to excessive socialization as anyone, but leaving the less lucky at the mercy of the few who would actually part with some of their resources just strikes me as inhumane. I understand that the US is somewhat, um, …special politically, but humanism is global

Well... When a dog is crippled and unable to take care of itself... the "Humane" thing to do is put it down painlessly. How do you end the world of suffering? No matter how you slice it... Stealing from one, that earned through labor... to give to another, is evil.

I recommend you maybe read a work of literature. Any classic will do. Or easier: listen to a Jordan Peterson podcast, and pay attention. Seriously. You will feel much better because the world will stop appearing as such a cruel and foreign place.

Trouble is, after you have finished that refreshing respite, you have to go back our world full of political activists who haven't read or despise those traditions, who are indeed making our world an increasingly cruel and foreign place.

I might agree if I lived in the US. That political system is indeed “special”. I do appreciate hugely what the cypherpunks have done, I just don’t agree with some of the really extreme views, because that’s not how humans can live together.
