@NickSzabo4 could you please tell me what you believe the flaws of credential verification on the blockchain are? Is this a subset of identity management in your opinion?

It depends crucially on what the credential is for and who issued it, and not abusing it for purposes for which it was not intended and still expecting it to be reliable. A general identity is local, labor-intensive, and insecure.

Thank you for your considered response. The "who issued it" is where I see signatures being key (pun unintended), but the blockchain to me is crucial for cases where the transaction itself may be used as evidence. E.g. A safety manager received a credential prior to on-boarding.

Generally speaking this kind of thing is not socially scalable, so it doesn't interest me much.
