I thought there were many attempts for some kind of digital cash, but most failed to solve double spend without central trusted party.

These were digital dollars, euro, etc., not new currencies. And they weren't decentralized. Extremely different from cryptocurrencies.

You tell him, Sat... I mean Nick!
-
If Nick is Sat, the is Hal Oshi?

-
I'm so thankful for what he and Hal created and worked so hard on... and I didn't even profit from early (2009-12) Bitcoin investing. My gratitude to them is, and forever will, be my Twitter profile's pinned tweet.

I can remember dozens of digital payment microprocessors over the past two decades, most went under and provided a near useless service except for high risk products which couldn’t process payments elsewhere.

It seems to me that bitcoin is simply digitally transmissible value, totally agnostic to assets large or small. I for one can’t wait to see what is built around this fundamental medium.

Even fewer people people had the foresight to disavow their personal interest in the project and to identify likeminded people in the pursuit of decentralization at nearly all cost. I’m so cynical that I think the individual behind SN is dead.

Bitcoin is only different from micropayment schemes bc it never had to make any money. Ponzi schemes are never tasked w burden of turning a profit, they only self-perpetuate. Bitcoin and all forms of money are Ponzi schemes which eventually all meet their maker. (Die)
