Andreas says that the routing problem or the optimization of it for lightning network is not our current priority. He says as of now we need better UI and ease-of-use for end-users. What do you guys think? Coz is it really that hard to make better UI?

Cannot claim a network can serve global scale without a routing strategy to get it there. No one has figured out how to scale source routing for global use yet. Of course LN can fall back on current strategies used by internet, but would compromise decentralization and privacy.

According to andreas routing solution for millions or billions of nodes will be done when lightning has millions of nodes and not before. Please watch the video he explains it better. https://youtu.be/4KiWkwo48k0

We may be talking about different routing problems. I am talking about the routing problems that cause users to see "no route found" messages or similar. By far the most hostile part of the Lightning UX and crucial to solve.

Yeah those are different set of problems. The main issue there I see is the low reliability of routing payments of larger amounts. That part is fundamental to the contractual binding LN imposes on liquidity and will likely stay even as network matures. Other issues are solvable.

One possibility is that the norm will be dual on/off chain wallets that can use on-chain as a fallback for sufficiently large amounts. Has to be invisible to the user except for a simple param or two; the normal end-user is certainly not going to navigate through the routes.

From UX perspective, this should improve user experience for sure.
