Never claimed to be a crypto expert. I’ve run enough 24x7 platforms to understand the need for a team able to respond to issues. EOS in its current form requires that of its BPs. My point is an elected BP in a production network should have that capability. That’s a simple ask.

To be perfectly clear, my argument is that ops teams bear responsibility for their infra and its blast radius. It’s not an argument that this is the best / right way to operate a decentralized crypto currency.

The fact that people think EOS's block producer process is socially scalable is delusionally hilarious. Especially considering the blacklist aspect. How is that going to scale to 7 billion people?
-
Quite easy. You raise 4 billion dollars, spend 1billion on looking like you care and are doing something, spend the other 3 billion on bitcoin. Wait was was the question again?

Nick, "Byzantine" refers to the failure model, not to the solution strategy. The proper term is "Classical" consensus.

Seriously why does everyone who even vaguely disagrees with Szabo get someone piping up with appeal to authority? Smart people can be wrong sometimes too.

Actual computer scientists (all engineers really) need to start taking leadership roles in society. They seem content with solving problems and ignoring laypeople while charlatans speak for them.
