Farming was the big breakthrough in biological scalability. Less obvious but still very important were advances in hygiene, such as the use of boiled water (as herbal or proper tea) or alcohol to avoid drinking disease-carrying village water.

East Asia was probably the biggest early innovator biological scalability: pottery to protect stored food from vermin; alcoholic beverages (made from wild plants) and tea to avoid the need to drink village-polluted water. https://www.penn.museum/sites/biomoleculararchaeology/?page_id=247 …https://dinersjournal.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/11/why-europeans-drank-beer-and-asians-drank-tea/ …

The same East Asian regions that innovated in biological scalability prior to agriculture also were the first to domesticate dogs. Dogs likely served as intruder alarms for early villages, making them more secure: an increase in social scalability.

Life itself underwent revolutions that increased its scale. One of the earliest was when it evolved the ability to break the triply-bonded N2 to create the single-N-containing molecules needed to make all amino acids, and thus all proteins. https://unenumerated.blogspot.com/2010/10/elements-evolution-and-nitrogen-crisis.html …

And regarding Homo sapiens’ evolution among greatest scalability inventions imo were language, writing, money and typography. Most recent are internet and maybe BTC:-)
-
Yep, social scalability. I'd say markets, the networks of deals, enabling greater division of labor as the biggest social scalability win. Perhaps at a different level of the "protocol stack" than your list though, since they rely on language and benefit from writing & printing.

good morning Mr. Szabo: I am writing to inform you that your name appears on the list of the first citizens of DECENTURION. You can check how much I tell you, in this link: https: //decenturion.com/ Do you really have a DECENTURION passport, or is it a scam?

They are using my name without my permission or prior knowledge.

Fungus/ lichen was the planets first settlers. Lichen consumed the rock which created soil. Early mushroom fossils have been found that show they could have been 20'+ high. What a landscape that would have been?!

Humm, Nick Szabo learns about 1970's high school level sociology. Calls it Biological Scalability to make it sound like some kind of advanced concept?
