If gresham's law is real then it applies there will never be a single, global currency
Gresham's Law is not universal, it is an effect of legal tender laws (i.e. it assumes the reality that money is not an arbitrary construct, but it also depends on particular laws that require accepting the objectively lesser quality money).
But the argument is really about inefficiency from there being a difference in each money's trade-vs-commodity value ratio. So until there is a scalable way to perfectly-efficiently memorize altruism by everyone, the essence of gresham's law will still exist.
