Bad as compared to what? You talking like Segwit2x, BCH and DAO Fork never happened. Miners, core developers, wallet producers, exchanges have (and use) enormous power over blockchains. Non-transparent bureaucracy already governs most major blockchains.

EOS block producers deliver real world value: storage, ram, computation, TPS, etc. In the age of PoW mining, have we lost sight of the importance of real world value? Agreed, governance will be tricky, but if it works, we've created a new nation on chain.
