His problem is where he’s initially aiming his plant foot. From the initial stance, it should be pointed at where he’s going to land with it, not at the ball. Because it’s pointed at the ball, he has to swivel his hips open in order to get it over to the proper spot, which means

his accuracy is basically a coin flip. The ball goes where your hips are pointed at contact, and by introducing horizontal motion he’s making it much harder to kick the ball straight (that’s for kicks 1-3). On kick four, his plant foot is actually aimed properly, but he tries to

guide it (since he missed three in a row previously), and ends up stepping in front of the ball instead of even with it. This means he hits it as his foot is still in the process of locking out because the ball is behind him, which causes him to push it to the right.
