    Usually, there’s a lot of localization hate & not to mention a lot of hardships in the field with not being credited, etc. As an aspiring localizer, it can be disheartening...But this piece by Janet Hsu reminded me why I fell in love with localization in the 1st place.

    Reading comments like this from people regarding Fata are more or less the only microdoses of happiness the universe seems to allot me these days.

    Almost a month removed since I finished The House In Fata Morgana and I still think about it every day. What a magnificent story, lordy.

    I had the blessed honor of recording for my podcast yesterday. My cat Pico was mesmerized by his a cappella rendition of Candles and cuddled up with him. I had chills all over. It’ll be up sometime this month!

    Leaving Sony is making me feel worse than the worst breakup I have ever been through. It makes me feel physically ill; I am beginning to question whether or not I will even be able to bear sticking with video games as a hobby. (1/?)

    Finally, I know I have no chance of winning compensation. But as a former games journalist whose Sony bent infamously verged on bias (not to mention the four Sony games on my CV) I do know I’ll get media coverage. These draconian policies must be more widely known.

    The TOS says they Sony reserves the right to suspend your account without any warning very plainly. But in Japan, at least, there is no language about reserving the right to leave customers in the dark about which terms they had violated. (4/????)

    The most terrible thing I have ever done on PSN was to use save game editor software to insert Red XIII into my party in FFVIIR in order to get a closer look at his model, but I am no fool: I created a new account entirely for the purpose. (3/4)

    I found nothing specific, but did come up with with two technically possible infractions: 1.) I’ve used off-color language in voice chat, but only with other adults, and 2.) I backed up my Bloodborne save online in order to get the last boss related Trophies more quickly. (2/3)

    I appreciate this tweet (really!)... It gives me a fine opportunity to respond to questions several people have been asking me all at once. 1) I read the entire Japanese TOS shortly after being suspended, thinking that I really must have done something that violated it. (1/3)

    1) I would say you probably broke TOS/EULA. 2) I would bet if you read all the agreements, they likely mention being able to suspend without notice/reason somewhere. 3) Good luck suing them and actually winning anything for this, because it likely won't work.

    Not to nitpick, but it’s 「セガサターン、シロ！」 It’s a mart triple pun on the name Segata Sanshiro, the word “white” (shiro), and the imperative form of the verb suru (“do”). Hearing it spoken aloud, 99% of Japanese would think the slogan simply meant “PLAY SEGA SATURN!”
