Definitely not in Venezuela! Every day we have power shortages, we receive piped water every 15 days for only about 12 hours and I live in Caracas, the capital city, where things are "supposedly" better. Children are dying on a daily basis due to malnutrition.

Yes, I quite agree. Venezuela has been going in the wrong direction. But the world as a whole is improving in terms of literacy, mortality, morbidity.

The issue isn't whether things are getting better. It's that bad people are actively trying to take those gains from us all and make everything that much worse.
