the impact of the housing crisis on these two groups of people are not in any way comparable! a small proportion of investors might have to invest in something else instead! can they not hear themselves speak what is happening

lol discussion on about proposed rental freeze landlords: but what if we can't afford our investment property any more renters: literally cannot afford to live in a house in sydney, had to constantly move, change schools, essential workers forced out of town

Some are saying that the BMJ study shows vaccines are a higher risk for causing severe myocarditis than covid. That's wrong. If anything it says you're ~4 times less likely to get myocarditis, ~23 times less likely to get heart failure, and ~80 times less likely to die. 1/12

Any discussion of mortgages taken out when interest rate were 19% needs to also note that interest rates fell in the 1990s and 2000s - ie the period where they were paying it off.

missed this in the donations data yesterday, but for anyone who was looking at total receipts - the Liberals haven't declared their AEC election funding yet, as I think they received it after the financial year ended. So they'll get ~ $26.5m in the next FY

I thought this was a v good feature about ageing populations, but I'd really like to read/hear more about how economies can be changed to address a population that is no longer growing - in news usually lack of growth is presented as a big negative
