the impact of the housing crisis on these two groups of people are not in any way comparable! a small proportion of investors might have to invest in something else instead! can they not hear themselves speak what is happening

Some are saying that the BMJ study shows vaccines are a higher risk for causing severe myocarditis than covid.
That's wrong.
If anything it says you're ~4 times less likely to get myocarditis, ~23 times less likely to get heart failure, and ~80 times less likely to die.

Any discussion of mortgages taken out when interest rate were 19% needs to also note that interest rates fell in the 1990s and 2000s - ie the period where they were paying it off.

missed this in the donations data yesterday, but for anyone who was looking at total receipts - the Liberals haven't declared their AEC election funding yet, as I think they received it after the financial year ended. So they'll get ~ $26.5m in the next FY

I’m sad to report that I am leaving to pursue other projects, which I will announce soon. It was an honor and a privilege to found five years ago to create an investigative newsroom that integrated engineers and journalists. /1

incidentally if you added the election payment into the 2022 financial year, it would put their total receipts above Labor's, rather than below

The Mail and its readers will tell you that the strikes are about pay. They're really not! Workers in sectors that we all depend on are striking for the resources necessary to do their jobs at all. Read them in their own words – not those of some Tory-voting political editor

the political donations declaration system really needs an overhaul - first pic is what the parties declared, second is what the donor declared 🤷

I thought this was a v good feature about ageing populations, but I'd really like to read/hear more about how economies can be changed to address a population that is no longer growing - in news usually lack of growth is presented as a big negative

I’ve known John Hughes since I was 11. Last year, I was made aware that he had plagiarised me. That’s the top line of this story, but if you want to know more about its complexities, I wrote about it here.
