Absolutely! There is a little way to go with the box design to make it reasonably straight forward to put together. But once that's done I'll post the CAD drawings, parts list etc. for anyone to use / adapt / play with. Hoping to keep the parts to around £30.

Hi Nick, Do you have any specs of the resolution and sensitivity? What sensors do you use?

Hi Raj, I've built this version using an AS7341 chip so the wavelength resolution is very low compared to a lab spectrometer (there are 8 detection bands across the visible spectrum), but it's definitely sufficient for teaching fundamentals of spectroscopy (more below).
