Before the 2010s Star Wars was for "nerds" who were the prime target of bullies. Same bullies who drove Jake and Hayden away. In the 2010s Star Wars became "cool" and those bullies infiltrated the fanbase. This along with social media has compounded the toxicity in the fanbase.

What’s so new? “America” just happened, as it has always been happening on this continent for the last 400 years.
I’m critical at Star Wars at times, but I’ve never attacked the actors or business people for doing the best they can with the material they’re given. I’m not a fan of modern Kathleen Kennedy but I’ve never attacked her regardless of certain comments she’s made.
