It would be nice to get something useful out of the "adequacy" game now being played out.

I wish lawyers would understand that the singular of "goods" is "article". "Good" as a noun refers to a quality, as for example in "the good, the bad and the ugly".

I’d be happier if NCSC said: “we know omitting encryption reduces security, but in our opinion, it‘s better to sacrifice this security in exchange for more surveillance”. That would be an honest assessment of the trade-off, and the starting point for discussion

Availability is still a risk, but end-to-end encryption means that resources can be focused on addressing this problem, rather than worrying about confidentiality and integrity too. Effective end-to-end encryption also makes targeted attacks on availability more challenging

The approach to Huawei equipment in the UK 5G network deftly avoids mentioning that end-to-end encryption would protect confidentiality and authenticity, regardless of the equipment vendor

Age verification by Tech companies endangers citizens privacy! "These companies are asking us to trust them with records of millions of people's sexual preferences, with huge commercial reasons to use that data for profiling & advertising."

Free expression in the UK faces enormous threat this year from the Online Harms Bill which is going to make the internet an aggressively-monitored, controlled speech zone. It’s a blueprint for international censorship online, and terrifying. We need a unified, popular movement.

Quite right. They'd never hope to fix a software compatibility that fast. Probably track gauge. Perhaps nobody told Siemens we weren't still using broad gauge.

The wise prescription of humility still seems to be taken by some as more to be honoured in the breach than in the observance - see for example Bates v the Post Office.
