How can a picture found 7 years ago on a forum, saved back then on my hard drive, and posted this day on twitter by my software, steal the views from the author of the picture?
It gives views on the art, which is fine. But if there is no source connected to the image you post; it means it's just a free-showing. The artist won't get traffic. Also, I wouldn't upload people's stuff, if you can't link to the author's portfolio/site.
And it takes absolutely nothing either, to link to people's webpages. If you can't remember the site you got the image from, you can always use reverse-google image search, using image recognition. You sharing stuff is fine, I'd just say don't do it. If you can't link to it..
Authorship and credit do not have an expiration date friend.
Your software could actually potential help artists getting commission; if it linked to their site. So instead of derps like myself nagging about this, you might actually get a bunch of artists really appreciating you giving them exposure. but w/o links, it's doing the opposite
