Is it only me or is there a demotivational wave going on in the WoW community?

I pretty much quit entirely. Way too much to do in real life and in the game it doesn't even feel like a game nowadays. It feels like a second job I wasn't getting paid for. Most of the classes feel terrible, the loot was lousy, and most of the community is super toxic.
Warcraft endgame is very competitive focused, the game has specialized in this more and more during the last expansions. I guess because the wow community as a whole is interested in that. At times, it feels like a job for me too, with my RL also not something I am looking for

Which is just insane to me. For the massive amount of time investment it takes to play like that you have to literally no life it most of the time. Which to me is very sad because it's still just a game. There's so much more to life than video games.

They literally tailored the endgame around streamers and people who are unemployed. Pretty much no one with any kind of life outside it would have time to play that much.
