Tramsog, while undeniably one of WoW’s most popular features, is a detriment to progression-based MMOs.
In this genre, visual progress is arguably just as important, if not moreso, than power progress.
Transmog undermines visual progress entirely.
True, but there is no unlimited visual progress (not every new set can be better than all previous iterations), also it is a matter of tastes. What a bad feeling it would be to "progress" a new raid, and the reward is looking like a bag of potatoes (new mail sets)

I'm reminds of BC's launch and the feeling of loss I had when my beautiful raid gear was replaced by a clown outfit.
