Not everyone enjoys/has the time for raiding. Blizzard introduced new "Endgame Pillars" (M+, Arena, rated BGs). And this "Set" should include all slot types. No more Arena with mandatory Raid Trinkets. There could be easily a categorization for item sources to signalize these sources, which make that gear particular stronger in specific game territories (Raids, Instances, BGs, Arenas)
Azerite armour is like a huge anti-fun facet to the game. It's detgrimental to reward cycles and makes it harder to log in every day.
The main problem with azerite is it's all rng where as your tier set is a guaranteed you get this specific bonus once you get it. There is no awful wasted time feeling cuz you got fucked from rng with tier sets. Player power should 100% be around skill/content and not randomness.
I won't miss Azerite armor, if all the traits were like essences from 8.0...I'd tolerate it. Alas... Also tier sets are fine coming back, even if I find it challenging to come up with interesting unique effects on them.
That's the main reason I don't raid with a guild. I work mornings and I'm not gonna go to work on 2 or 3 hrs sleep just to be able to raid.
As someone who stopped playing cause of rng gear I agree wholeheartedly. And I have been a die hard blizzard fan for over a decade. This is the first expac I have refused to play. It's a shame cause the storytelling and music was some of the best.
I'll dance if tier set comes back. Using the same talents and rotation through 3 raids is boring. And it doesn't have to be the a set of equipment - traits can serve the same functionalities as long as they are diverse and powerful enough.
I guess Azerit Traits were supposed to do that job. As we know they failed hard. Essences aren't that bad, but they stay the same for the whole xPac. It would have been better if they were less effects, but changing and becoming the new meta every raid patch.
