      It is. Players have multiple monitors nowadays, playing twitch/youtube/music or socializing in other chat/voice apps (discord etc), reading stuff on social networks, blogs, etc. Online games do not have the exclussively attention of players anymore, this is an issue for immersion

          I know it's not quite mmoish but if I was to compare Xbox Live from before November 2008 to after. It basically lost the thing that defined it like it hit 11am on the 11th of November, just with trash talkers and kids going silent instead of the guns.
