I personally enjoyed ashran a lot. I was 24/7 there to lead randoms. With a lot of my twinks. Leveling was easy then, gearing new twinks though ashran was fast, equip did not matter much in pvp, etc. I just understood "how" the game was and how I could get the most out of it

Garrisons were also intergral to the leveling itself. We know how it turned out. Originally the option to switch zones where your garrison would be. Would of been cool but considering the storylines...it would of been weird to have an Alliance oone in Frostfire etc.

Having said that, cut content(It happens in any project but I think it hit a level where it was too much). Yearly expansion idea also hurt this(Blizzard avoid doing this EVER AGAIN). I looked foward to Farahlon. I wish we got to see it. Disappointed

Honestly WoD's content was fantastic, the problem was that there was little of it. However what was there was just so good, BEST leveling and world building to date, Yrel was a fantastic character and Shadowmoon is the most beautiful zone.

I also don't think it helped that you could get your mats basically from your garrison, and that's a majority where people spent their time for one to one and a half years, if they werent questing or grinding rep for flying. I loved Shadowmoon/Arak. Everything else felt rushed.
