Coming from reddit myself I am a bit surprised to see what -doesn't- count as nsfw here. I think there's a lot to do with why but maybe more people use reddit at work?

I think it has more to do with the fact that there's a subreddit for everything, so if something is on the nsfw side, is in a generally "all ages" subreddit, and not properly flagged as nsfw, then people get pretty annoyed.
