Candace is a former teacher and school board member. However, education policy isn’t her top priority in this race. If she wins, she plans to focus on campaign finance reform and an infrastructure package. Universal childcare is another top priority.

On why she got into politics in the first place: “When you see structural problems can’t be solved by more studying, you need to ‘adult’ on behalf of the kids. Sometimes that’s giving them guidance. Sometimes that’s making things happen.”
