The OO package deal sells you a lego kit made of a single kind of blocks, "classes", that, to do everything, are like swiss army chainsaw-flamethrowers, except with all the blades permanently stuck half-open while running at full-speed.

Unbundling neatly separates chainsaws from flamethrowers, and other effectful or structural components. Better if it splits chainsaws into further parts, to separately reuse engines or chains. Even better to 3D print new custom parts.

In the language wars, reject both OO and FP fanatics. Like Lispers, accept both objects and functions, but more importantly, staunchly defend the right keep and bear metaprograms to mold your abstractions to your problems. Unlike Lispers, embrace types, i.e. precise metadata.
