Is there a book I can read about the ways Lisp communities pulled themselves apart to avoid success in the 90s / 2000s?

CL in the 2010s: Quicklisp noticeably improves the usability of libraries. ASDF 3 & cl-launch provide integration with shell (sub)processes, just like CFFI did with C routines. CL is at long last usable as a "scripting language", bringing down the barrier of entry to using it.

Unhappily, there are still irreducible barriers to entries (e.g. symbol case issues; the minority "systems" paradigm). And once you pay the price, you're in an ecosystem that is largely incapable of fixing issues with the standard or below it, due to misaligned incentives.
