is there anyone that got deep into FP and switched over to OOP, and now prefers OOP? I recognize there's a "no true scotsman" issue with 'got deep' (eg I tried Haskell for N time and went back, where is N big enough?) :\

Depends what you call "FP" and "OOP". The terms have changed (and converged) a lot since the 1990s, for the better. "FP" now embraces ad hoc polymorphism in the form of type classes, while "OOP" now has closures and parametric polymorphism in the form of "generics".
