The ordinal sum operator (+) defines a monoidal product on the category of posets. (X (+) Y is the poset given by the disjoint union poset X + Y but also setting everything in X to be strictly below everything in Y.) It interacts with ordinal numbers like (n) (+) (m) = (n + m)
