The problem with programming in a language that is bad (in some way) isn't just that the language is bad (in that way), but that the other programmers it attracts are OK with it being bad (in that way). Which is itself bad unless people in charge recognize it and work to fix it.

Every vicious circle is also virtuous seen the other way. A language that is good (in some way) can benefit from attracting programmers who'll take it to the extreme of its potential. In the end—the language may reveal the values of the community it attracts in both good and bad.
