How do functional programmers do user-observable persistent asynchronous programming? I feel like reinventing the wheel building my own infrastructure of hand-written "actors" on top of Lwt in OCaml.

doesn't Lwt have reactive-like streams?

There is Lwt_stream, but it doesn't handle persistence for me, or a good story for many-to-one asynchronous communication (that would be Lwt_mvar), etc. (Also, Lwt smells like it was written by recovering Java programmers rather than functional programmers.)

Satisfaction will be achieved by unlearning bad habits from the Java world.https://fare.livejournal.com/183297.html
