(And I wont be making those things public for a variety of reasons, but mainly because I dont want to give the wrong people any more ideas)

This stuff is only going to get worse. The capability only more asymmetric. Drone jammer guns are such a ridiculously pointless detour. They'll be almost irrelevant inside of 3 years (which for military spending and testing...3 years is nothing)

And that's ultimately a big part of the problem. US Military is still into long term investments that pay off decades down the line. But current adversaries and concepts dictate that most weapons actually being faced, wont be around a year from now, let alone decades.

Lack of decent anti UAS concepts aside, its ultimately a logistics and numbers problem. Whatever counter measure that gets chosen to go forward, needs to be on the field and in the hands of infantry in months at most to face current problems. Future proofing isnt really viable

in our current environment. Sure, people like me have pretty good ideas of where things are going next because weve kept a close eye on the subject for a better part of a decade and have constantly been proven right, but we're getting ready to hit a boiling point, where its anyones

game, and the only people that will say they know whats going to happen are going to try and sell you "the best way to defend against this imminent threat" that likely will never materialize.

If military and governments want to seriously face this problem, it's going to take a massive shift in thinking and methods, the likes of which havent been seen before. Things are changing pretty significantly.Imagine the impact tank warfare had,but with millions of smaller tanks

that are almost impossible to see, hear, let alone shoot with any kind of accuracy, and even if you did hit one, a thousand more wait behind it.

We havent even seen what a micro UAS swarm can really do in a real world environment, though I have a rough idea and...yeah. You dont stop that with any current capability short of a thermobaric weapon, and that kinda defeats the purpose, doesnt it?

UAS Swarms are one of those things that are greater than the sum of its parts. Theres a lot of people working on this issue, at both ends of the spectrum. Once it starts becoming common place...Well, as we say "GLHF" (Good luck, have fun)

Swarms of small flying machines self-assembling into bigger threats despite losses at enemy defenses were predicted by Stanislaw Lem in the 1970s.
