The information was received before the administration moved ahead with plans to deploy more than 5,200 troops to the border, according to operational documents obtained by Newsweek.https://www.newsweek.com/trump-administration-migrant-caravan-border-troops-1193694 …

The estimates revealed in the documents, marked as “UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO//LES” (meaning the documents are for official use only and are law enforcement sensitive), stand in stark contrast to President Trump’s claims of an “invasion” at the U.S. border.https://www.newsweek.com/trump-administration-migrant-caravan-border-troops-1193694 …

Of the thousands of people estimated to have been traveling with the caravan at the time, officials believed that only 20 percent would likely make it to the U.S. border, based on historical analysis.https://www.newsweek.com/trump-administration-migrant-caravan-border-troops-1193694 …

So unlawfully deploying 5000 troops to the border was just the usual Trump being himself: wasting money, time and human resources for hot air balloons.pic.twitter.com/raIxLve7Tt

That stupidity means he is willing to use unfounded fear once again to obtain a political goal, in this case the midterm elections.

IMO, the problem won't be the military. They have strict guidelines for operations/engagement/etc. ⚠️ Real Dangers ⚠️ ▫️Vigilante militias incited by Trump&Co (eg Oathkeepers) ▫️Trump's growing DHS paramilitia (CBP/USBP/ICE), which is operating as a self-governing entity

He's Commander in Chief. They have to obey. I think Senate & House could rein him in. (Just a guess. I'm no expert). They aren't doing anything to ratchet down the tension. @GOP knows fear will bring in more Repub votes. WHY is it military & not Natl Guard? Inside our country.
