Had the gunman killed anyone yet? Was he threatening the 'hero'? The 'hero' may have had little cause to kill. WOUNDING is another matter.

Shooting to wound is tactically and legally a bad practice. When you shoot to wound it’s hard to prove in a court of law that deadly force was justified as you only intended to harm the aggressor

But since you didn't KILL him, then you hadn't intended to use deadly force, whether it was justified or not. The feds should prefer that: it's easier to TAX a guy while he's alive.

Legally speaking, when you use a firearm as self defense you have to prove that it was the last available option to protect yourself and others. When you shoot to wound there is grey area for prosecution/defense that it was unnecessary force

Why does everyone celebrate the arming of American society and the violence that it brings? Your society is so sick you can't even go to a McDonald's or a church without being armed. Anyone who thinks that's normal or acceptable has lost the plot.

We celebrate it because it's our right...same right that saved lives in this restaurant.

It's gone too far. when kids are routinely butchered and you do nothing, don't you ever look at yourself and your country and think my god, what have we become? And if you don't, what the hell is wrong with you?
