This article is ridiculous, in no way are any of these comments racist. They are an opinion in which further discussion can be had, but racist, jeez! Is this what we’ve become, if the mob calls it racist, then heads roll, no matter what? Intention and context be damned!

They would rather fire her for “being racist” than admit their colossal misunderstanding of her ability to translate into their demo.

or maybe she decided she would rather look like a victim then have to face the disgrace of being unable to bring in good ratings ! It is disgusting but that is where we are now - she gets to take her loyal racists with her and find a new ( or old ) network - I predict RW

When she constantly says a bunch of racist stuff, they aren’t “gaffes”. It just means she’s racist. It’s pretty simple and doesn’t need to be analyzed.

They are "gaffes" because she isn't racist and the things she said aren't really racist. Newsweek is trying to spin them as such though. It's the typical call anything you dont agree with racist angle. We should be allowed to have actual discussions about things.

If you have a segment basically summed up as “in defense of blackface” then yes you’re racist.

Ok then when it’s 2018 and you ask “is blackface bad?” Then you’re just an idiot who deserves to be ridiculed and fired.

She didn't ask that though. If you haven't, go back and watch that segment again. She really didn't say anything out of line. They were looking for a reason to fire her and chose to leap on this.
