Now that Donald has agreed with Native people that a DNA test is an invalid determiner of Native identity, why does @KayaJones still serve as “Native American” Ambassador to @NDCTrump? She also produced an invalid DNA test and is not enrolled in any tribe?pic.twitter.com/bTRXfD5EQM

In some families people are raised to believe that they are partially from a certain heritage and have no idea that they are not. People find out on a daily basis with DNA testing and ancestry sites that they come from totally different backgrounds

And hopefully those people learn a little about the background they were told they are from before they claim an ethnic group’s identity. If Warren and Jones had done that, they’d have learned that family myths and DNA tests are not valid determiners of Native/tribal identity.

Being Indian doesn’t make you superior to people who think they are of Irish, Italian and etc, etc decent. If she was raised thinking she was of Indian decent and she wasn’t, who cares. Only people that care are the people who worship at Trumps feet. Trump is the kind of...

        1. It doesn’t make us superior, but it is our identity, and we are entitled to speak out when it is falsely appropriated. 2. Native people were calling out Warren’s ethnic fraud and plenty of other Pretendians before her long before Donald started exploiting this issue.

        3. It’s not a matter of her being raised thinking she was of Native descent. The problem is that she claimed Native and Cherokee identity on the basis of a spurious family myth, which undermines tribal sovereignty and the basis of Native identity.

        4. Pretendians who claim Native identity based on anything but tribal connection do cause real harm to Native people by skewing our demographics and more importantly, our views on issues that affect us. You can brush this off as a non-issue, but those of us affected by it cannot.

Some deny they are alcoholics or drug addicts even when intervention is tried. Denial is a defensive tactic, but futile in the end when everyone knows the reality that surrounds the individual drowning in their own false sense of the world & vacuous life. @SenWarren

I'm saying Der Führer Trump made this political. It's not an issue that needs to be dragged out. Like the fraudulent billionaire and his worshipers dragged out the President Obama birth place issue.

Trump donates his entire salary. He's not the one exploiting an entire population's heritage for personal and political gain. @SenWarren is the one in the wrong here.

There are articles in Native publications about this issue going back to Warren’s first Senate campaign, long before Donald ever mentioned it. Just because Donald exploits an issue he knows nothing about nor cares anything about doesn’t mean it’s not an issue to those it affects.

Let it be b/t her & the Native American. Don't allow Trump to blast it into every damn hate driven speech he makes. Isn't it actually a compliment. Someone wants to be known as part Native American? Just saying. I know you can't favor Trump calling her Pocahontas as if it's bad?

I am not responsible for Donald Trump choosing to exploit an issue Native people have been speaking about for years. Are Native people supposed to stop speaking about an issue that affects us simply because Donald Trump decided to use it as a political attack?

Appropriating our identity is not a compliment. It undermines the basis of our identity and it is an affront to tribal sovereignty. As for Donald’s use of Pocahontas as a slur, I can call him out for his racism and call out Warren’s fraud at the same time.

Okay, you're going a little too deep. I would hardly consider it fraud. My issue is not the use or misuse of one's claim to heritage. It is Donald J Trump's derogatory rhetoric, which has been a staple of his personal. Very disturbing and offensive. Wouldn't you agree?
