I am so sorry for your loss but there was Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook, Boston Marathon, Sal Castro Middle School- Los Angeles, Santa Fe High School just to name a few. The GOP refuses to close the loopholes in the current laws..they hold the country hostage.

It might have something to do with allowing an 18-year-old boy to buy an assault weapon.

Republicans control all three branches of government; what did they do? I remember them hanging their heads in sorrow and offering thoughts and prayers. While doing nothing to address the issue because of the power of the NRA.

He's been feted throughout the GOP, been to the White House more than once. He feels important and beholden to his new "friends", who are using him like one uses a Kleenex.

Now why would he say that? Democrats might have to put politics aside for a second and consider what he’s saying.

Why didn't he give his DAUGHTER a gun? It's Florida right? Don't everyone carry guns there? How is it DEMOCRATS fault? REPUBLICANS RUN THE GOV'T! Blaming everything on Democrats is disingenuous & very lopsided!

Lol. While I understand that Republicans blame democrats, the basis of the blame differs heavily. In this case, the particular people who’s policies are being blamed had direct impact through their lack of due diligence. Cruz should not have been able to do that. Too many signs.

On the flip side, Democrats blame the NRA in general. While I understand people may disagree with their opinions, they are far removed from the actions Cruz took. Get rid of the NRA, these things will still happen. Ban guns, these things will still happen.

The rage is political. It isn’t logical. Logic says that any sort of banning will take generations. It won’t have any immediate effect. If you want to stop school shootings, you need to think defensively. Weapons detection and stopping ability.

Stopping ability means being able to stop a live shooter. However you want to do that, so be it, but a method is needed to stop a person with high powered weapons. Banning the weapons won’t stop him. There are too many high powered weapons available.

The current background check system heavily lacks state crossover. A person with many flag raising items in his background can go to a different state and pass background checks. A national database connected to all law enforcement agencies is needed.

While I support gun control measures, the left need to let go of the blame game and work toward what is logical. There are many measures that can be taken without violating the second amendment rights so many Americans hold dear. Measures that may have stopped Cruz.

Don't blame Democrats, blame the funding to the school district, and a lackluster defense network.

So awful about his daughter but wasn’t he the guy wearing a Trump 2020 tee shirt at MSD high school? I’m confused about what the democrats did or didn’t do.
