UPDATE: Waves of 10m (32ft) was recorded north east of the epicentre of the 8.2 magnitude earthquake which hit south east of Chiniak in Alaska. Estimated arrival time of tsunami waves that expected to hit Kodiak, Alaska is at 1:45 local (5:45 ET).

UPDATE: Police in Kodiak, Alaska say: "At this time the tsunami warning has been downgraded to an advisory. However, citizens should remain in place" at higher ground.
