  2. Let me tell you a story about a woman named Debbie Barry who witnessed a turkey separate from its flock and lie down under some bushes, barely able to move. It was succumbing to a heavy parasite load. The bird had accepted its fate...

  3. Your day may be winding down, but many nocturnal animals are just now waking up. Porcupines aren’t seen very often because they are mostly awake at night. Penelope is enjoying her “breakfast” right now!

  4. Everyone is asking about MacIntosh. He is doing wonderful! He did not have surgery. We think he may not need it after all. He is making more and more progress every day.Sometimes the body can create its own false joint with scar tissue and that is why we believe he is recovering!

  5. “What defines us is how well we rise after falling.” Our gray squirrel that was hit by a car has made huge strides. The will these animals have to overcome adversity is so amazing and inspiring. Sometimes I wonder who is really saving who...

  9. This sweet little soul came in yesterday. One of our followers found him on the side of the road after just having been hit by a car. We are giving him medications to control the inflammation and his pain. Right now, he is getting some much needed rest.

  12. To mimic what their life is like in the wild, the baby cottontails we received are placed in sections of lawn that we dig up from around our facility. They love it!

  15. Since being admitted Ed has almost tripled in weight. He suffered severe frostbite and we are fairly certain he is also a victim of rat poison. He is a trooper though & we are happy to have him. He has his bandages changed every day and his wounds are finally starting to heal.

  16. This is Macintosh when we first got him. He was incredibly lethargic, could not use his legs or right arm, and would not eat. It was a long road to get him this far but he will be releasable as soon as it gets warmer. It is what wildlife rehab is all about!

  17. Hit by car? More like car hit by me! I am MacIntosh - super squirrel extraordinaire... May we all tackle what life throws at us the way he has. Like a champ!

  21. BEFORE & AFTER. It’s a happy ending for our gray squirrel that was hit by a car. She has fully recovered & is ready to be released! A big thank you to Lynnfield Animal Control Officer David Crockett, who cared enough to get her to us. She now has a 2nd chance at a normal life ❤️
