Pretty sure plenty of women (including myself) get after-work drinks with other women and even with male coworkers.

It's a statical fact that, in our culture, on average working women are burdened with an unequal share of family responsibility. If one works in an industry that requires after work networking to get ahead, where it's an unofficial part of the job, it could disadvantage women.

True. Sadly there's a lot of shitty husbands. The unfair gender dynamic makes this a women's issue, but really it's a family/work-life balance issue. My husband had to quite a well paying job to spend time with family b/c of long hours & endless after work events.

I work for a woman owned business in a male dominated industry. I’m able pick up my children every afternoon because I’m blessed to have bosses who understand family needs and don’t make me put it all on my wife. I highly recommend working for a WOB to everyone.

After works drinks suck. And (at least where I work) they are incredibly sexist. They're literally an excuse for the old boys club to drink company money, pat each other on the back, and then promote themselves.

Sorry, no. Not a conspiracy. Socializing after work with or without a drink has been going on since the beginning of time. I know plenty of women who go out for drinks with the girls after work on a regular basis. Not a conspiracy.
