For the first time in living memory, America’s European allies have broken with Washington as one on a major security issue. Or so it seems. http://nyer.cm/clhH6oe

To get that straight: It weren't the european allies who broke with Trump first, Trump did the first step by quitting the Iran-Agreement. Trump broke with the Agreement - so HE broke with the eueopean allies. France, GB and Germany always said they stand to the Agreement.

Trump is a contract breaker for no reason. So tell me: Why should we trust him any longer? We (=The Europeans) stand to the Agreement we signed and that was working. You can trust our Administrations - but we can't trust your Administration.

So now we're isolated while Russia & China are aligned with our allies. Great going, Trump! We now see why there is a need for pre-requisites for presidential candidates... #DumpTrump

They should. Otherwise the would-be strongman will demand more and more. Appeasing Trump is no better a strategy than appeasing Hitler.

I think it’s the other way around. Trump weaseled out of the Iran agreement not EU allies. He’s the weasel.

And let us not forget, fines, penalties and sanctions work both ways. American companies may find it very difficult to do business in Europe if the US decides to play rough. Also, Europe will continue to trade with Canada and Mexico. In the end, the US will be in quarentine.

Europe wants desperately to honor the Iran deal that Trump dishonored, but it may not be possible for them to do so after US sanctions are back in place. In addition, it looks as though Trump’s other ‘brilliant’ bit of foreign policy, our Jerusalem embassy, may trigger ME unrest
