Be Best has a Trumpian tinge, a view of life as a competition divided into winners and losers. But the grammar crumbles around itself; here is a motto for careerist doges. http://nyer.cm/GoXXeFt pic.twitter.com/4hEUtPhYWT

It's just a wild stab in the dark but I'm guessing not many New Yorker readers voted for Trump. And not many Trump voters read the New Yorker

        a not-so-wild-stab-in-the-dark – most Trump voters can’t read, period.

Melania is an embarrassment as First Lady,in every way. Ugh. #Be Worst is more apt for where Trump is taking this country.

Shouldn’t this read Be the Best? Or Be the Best You Can Be? Be Best is not an English language phrase.

Sadly, that IS my kindest. However, I do think someone who works for her should have stepped up and helped her with this since she obviously doesn’t know idiomatic English at all well.

Trump was reminded of the *Be Better* statement Michelle Obama made, and with his obsession to one-up president Obama and his poor grammar, I can hear him telling Melania *use Be Best!*. Makes no sense, they need to get a new name.

The New Yorker, you have quite the way of words choices to draw out the best images ...‘Her willed passivity may be the strongest expression of her agency. She is an avatar of blankness, a mute queen.’
