Michelle Wolf’s routine at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner was only as obscene as the Presidency itself, Masha Gessen writes.http://nyer.cm/Z9GpU1e

Hey Masha, I was at the Arthur Miller Freedom to Write lecture @PENamerican and would politely disagree with you about Hillary’ remarks concerning the inauguration size. I don’t think she was “stilted, scripted and unapproachable as ever.” I thought she had dignity and grace.

Barbara, the times that I've seen Hillary, I've seen warmth, a healthy sense of humor, intelligence and very approachable. Guess the idea of Hillary is in the eye of the beholder. If one doesn't want to see it, he/she won't.

I don’t disagree with the premise, just that the Presidency is still far more obscene than her jokes were.

Michelle Wolf was great! She spoke a lot of truth to power. And, many in Washington, did not like it.

ONLY obscene? When did we get to the point measure the behavior of a comedian and the president of the U.S. on the same scale?

Somebody, maybe ya know an editor, should have asked @mashagessen why it was necessary to include a nasty dig at Hillary in this piece allegedly about the #WHCD? Ah, yes, The Clinton Rules.

But at least she was honest & funny. That mitigates anything obscene about her routine. He, on the other hand, has no redeeming qualities. He’s just one big gross obscenity.

Wrong. Her commentary was sharp, true, cathartic. Obscene is inaugurating an unfit buffoon, a corrupt, ignorant grifter, a proven fraud, a vulgar sexual predator, & then defending him & his sycophants from deserved ridicule & condemnation. She wasn't obscene. She was beautiful.
